The Hypnotherapy and NLP Clinic was founded by Gemma Bailey in 2004.
Gemma is best known as a therapist who uses NLP and hypnotherapy with a specialism in working with children and young people.
After training as a Nursery Nurse at Oaklands college, St Albans, she went onto work in a variety of child care settings including day nurseries, schools, crèches, kids camps and then became the youngest nursery manager for the largest childcare provider in the UK, Asquith Court.
When taken ill with appendicitis, she used her time whilst off sick to study hypnotherapy and then enrolled on a course in Inverness, Scotland that provided NLP and hypnotherapy training.
After giving notice at the day nursery she set up her first business offering one to one therapy to adults using NLP and hypnotherapy. She then retrained in NLP with Andy Harrington and then again with Richard Bandler.
Career
People Building, an NLP and Hypnotherapy company that provides training, articles, podcasts, audios and hypnosis scripts was created by Gemma Bailey after she completed her NLP trainers training and composed her accredited NLP Practitioner, Master Practitioner and Hypnotherapy Diploma.
The People Building Podcast was published on iTunes for 5 years, achieving more than 1,000,000 downloads during the time the show was made. It also remained in the top 10 of the alternative health download chart on iTunes during it’s 5 year rein.
Creating Trance and Hypnosis Scripts (O-books) was first published in 2009 and contains hypnosis scripts written by Gemma Bailey and tips on how to write your own scripts. The book is a resource for accomplished and new hypnotherapists and is available in paperback in English speaking countries and in paper and hardback in Russia.
The People Building Members Club has been in operation since 2010 and provides those with an interest in NLP and Hypnotherapy with monthly resources and materials and a forum facility in which they can share their ideas and experiences.
In 2007 Gemma created a programme with Kay Gill, which used NLP techniques in workshops with children. Both began to focus their private therapy sessions into working with children using Hypnotherapy and NLP. In 2009 Kay and Gemma ended their working relationship and Gemma then set up a licensing programme enabling others to learn the techniques she had been using whilst simultaneously providing support and education around marketing their businesses effectively. This organisation is called NLP4Kids.
Gemma has now built NLP4Kids to include over 40 active practitioners in the UK and Hong Kong. They provide one to one therapy to children and families as well as workshops in the local community and in schools; training children, parents and teachers. The NLP4Kids team members are NLP Practitioners as a minimum standard and them complete further specialist training in working with children. They are CRB checked, insured and also have paediatric first aid and child protection training.
Gemma now spends her time between her Hertfordshire office where she overseas the NLP4Kids practitioners, her home in Buckinghamshire and London where she frequently attends events. She is rarely available for one to one therapeutic but does speak regularly at her own events and for corporations around subjects related to NLP, motivation, self esteem and most subjects relating to emotional well being and mental health.
